Formatting cells is important in Excel because it helps you to see your data beautiful and attractive, in this lesson, we will learn about the most important tools for formatting cells in Excel.

Change the font type

Go to the Home tab and open the Font menu and choose the type of font you want.

The font type will change to the type you chose.

Change the font size

Select the cell or cells for which you want to change the font size.

Go to the Home tab and open the Font Size menu and choose the font size you want.

The font size will change to the size you chose.

You can also enlarge and reduce the font size using the Increase Font Size and Decrease Font Size tools

Make the text thick

Select the cell or cells in which you want the text to be bold.

Go to the Home tab and click on the Bold tool to activate it.

The text will change to bold.

If you want the text to be thick, click the Bold tool again to deactivate it.

Make text italic

Select the cell or cells where you want the text to be italic.

The text will change to italic.

If you want the text to be italic, click the Italic tool again to deactivate it.

Make the text underlined

Select the cell or cells you want to underline the text

Go to the Home tab and click the Underline tool to activate it.

Add Border

Select the cell or cells you want to add a frame around.

Go to the Home tab and open the Border menu and select the frame you want.

The border you selected will be added.

Change the fill color

Select the cell or cells in which you want to change the fill color

Go to the Home tab and open the Fill Color menu and choose the fill color you want.

The fill color will change to the color you chose.

Change the font color

Select the cell or cells in which you want to change the font color.

Go to the Home tab and open the Font Color menu and choose the font color you want.

There are a lot of other formatting tools, most of which are on the Home tab.
